Q. Some tips for using Virtual Desk?

• Moving mouse over the Virtual Desk icon will popup the switching window. Virtual Desk icon is on the system tray area, usually you can see it on the right bottom of the screen

• You can select various skins for switching window in configuration dialog. The option is in the Skin page of configuration dialog, click here to see.

• You can keep your computer time accurate by setting Virtual Desk to look up the time server periodically. The option is in the Hotkey page of configuration dialog, click here to see.

• Virtual Desk support hotkeys, input ctrl+1, ctrl+2, ctrl+3 ... will switch to according desktops. Of course, you can set these hotkeys by yourself in configuration dialog. The option is in the Hotkey page of configuration dialog, click here to see.

• By clicking the shortcuts on the quick launch area, you can switch among desktops very easily and quickly. The option is in the Shortcut page of configuration dialog, click here to see.

• Setting wizard can help you to set Virtual Desk step by step. The shortcut for setting wizard is in the program groups

• To move a window from current desktop to desktop n, first activating the window, then input Ctrl+Alt+n (here n is the desktop number)

• By check or uncheck "Using iconized desktop" in the configuration dialog, you can select to draw a red spot or draw a iconized screen image on the switching window. The option is in the General page of configuration dialog, click here to see.

• You can set Virtual Desk to start whenever Windows is starting. The option is in the Shortcut page of configuration dialog, click here to see.

• Each desktop can have own wallpaper and screensaver. To enable it, check the according option in the general page of the configuration dialog. The option is in the General page of configuration dialog, click here to see.

• When "Using iconized desktop" is enabled, Clicking a specific window in the switching window will bring you to the desktop, the window which you specify. This feature is only in version 1.2 or later. It combines two steps (switching to the desktop and find the window which you want to focus) into one clicking.

• You may specify sticky windows or sticky programs to keep a window stay on all of desktops, to see the details, click here. The feature is only in version 1.2 or later.

• Some applications only allow one running in windows system, such as Microsoft Outlook Express. Double-clicking on the program icon will bring the first running to you. If the first running isn't in current desktop, many Virtual Desktop Managers don't do anything and it looks the program can't be run. Virtual Desk can understand the user's action and automatically switch to the desktop which include the program running and activate the window. So if you has a Microsoft Outlook Express running on the desktop 2, and currently you are in desktop 1, then when you double-clicking the Microsoft Outlook Express program icon, Virtual Desk will switch to desktop 2 and activate the Microsoft Outlook Express to let you write emails and read emails. The feature is only in version 1.2 or later.

• Anytime, if you has questions, just press F1. A context help page will be popped up and the related information will be showed. The feature is only in version 1.2 or later.

• Except the basic three methods to switch desktop, you also has another method: clicking "Programs List" menu item and select a desktop and a window, you can switch to the window. The feature is only in version 1.2 or later.

• Virtual Desk is a shareware, but it is free for upgrading. It means you always can use newest version if you have bought it before
